To accurately assess the full spectrum of visible colour, the surrounding area of your viewing environment should ideally be completely matt and have a neutral saturation. Neutral grey is the ideal colour for colour matching and visual assessment, as it does not influence user’s perception of the colour. Other colours are not recommended for standardised viewing conditions, as they could lead to wrong colour decisions.
