Applications
The Universal Wear Tester determines fabric wear and abrasion resistance for textiles, footwear, and industrial products. It comes with a surface abrasion head (inflated diaphragm method), a flex abrasion head, and the necessary weights and blades. Optional accessories allow testing for frosting, pilling, and edge abrasion.
This tester provides 120 double strokes per minute with a 25 mm stroke length. The air-inflated diaphragm system ensures uniform surface abrasion, while the clamping mechanism maintains consistent specimen tension. Its improved air injection system provides even inflation for more reliable results.
Operators can perform flat, curved, edge, and fold abrasion tests, including frosting, welt, and gigging resistance. It works on woven, knitted, pile, coated fabrics, socks, felt, non-woven materials, deep fabrics, yarn, cords, plastic films, rubber, leather, and paper. Samples can be tested dry or immersed in water, oil, or other liquids.
