Laboratory VIS Spectrophotometer
HACH DR3900 VIS Spectrophotometer ensures fast, accurate water analysis with RFID tracking, TNTplus® vials, and reliable optical performance for laboratory and wastewater applications.
- RFID and TNTplus® integration for automated, error-free testing
- Accurate results with Liquid Nephelometric Technology (LNT)
- USB/Ethernet data export and customizable test methods
The HACH Laboratory VIS Spectrophotometer is an instrument designed by HACH Company for water analysis in laboratories. This device measures the intensity of light in the visible spectrum (VIS) after it passes through a sample. Based on this measurement, the concentration of specific substances in the sample can be determined.
Some key features
- RFID Technology: The Laboratory VIS Spectrophotometer integrates advanced Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, making tracking and tracing of samples, methods, and quality control data faster and more reliable. RFID automatically records information without manual entry, minimizing human error and improving data accuracy.
- Guided Procedure: The spectrophotometer features an intuitive guided interface that leads users step-by-step through each test. This built-in guidance ensures consistent operation, reduces user error, and guarantees accurate and repeatable results across all tests.
- LNT (Liquid Nephelometric Technology): With LNT technology, the instrument detects issues such as air bubbles or cuvette scratches that might affect readings. This proactive detection enhances precision and ensures more reliable measurements every time.
- Wide Range of Pre-programmed Methods: The instrument comes preloaded with a wide array of test methods, which means users can test for a wide variety of parameters without having to manually input methods.
- Compatibility: It’s compatible with TNTplus chemistries, which is Hach’s advanced range of reagent vials. These vials allow for barcode recognition and provide automatic method detection, making the testing process more streamlined and less prone to human error.
- Connectivity: Modern versions of such devices often come with options for connecting to software, databases, or systems, allowing for easy data transfer and management.
Water analysis, especially in sensitive applications like drinking water supply or wastewater treatment, requires accurate and reliable data. Instruments like the HACH DR3900 provide laboratories with the tools they need to ensure the quality and safety of water.
Benefits
Simple Preparation TNTplus® vials feature Dosicaps®, freeze-dried reagents sealed inside the cap for easy handling and zero contamination risk. This design is far simpler than traditional Powder Pillows or liquid reagents. Each box and vial is color-coded for quick parameter and range identification, ensuring you select the correct test every time. Step-by-step illustrated instructions appear on the box for quick reference and are also accessible directly from the instrument menu.
Comprehensive Documentation Every measurement is automatically documented with timestamp, operator ID, absorbance reading, and calculated concentration. The 2D barcode includes lot number and expiry date, ensuring complete traceability. For accreditation purposes, you can instantly access the certificate of analysis by swiping the reagent box near the RFID sensor (available in select countries—refer to the datasheet for details).
Fast Execution The 2D barcode on each TNTplus® vial allows the Hach DR spectrophotometer to instantly identify the correct method and perform the measurement. The vial rotates to collect ten absorbance readings, which the system averages automatically to eliminate errors from fingerprints or scratches. Combined with built-in calibration verification and instrument stability, this process removes the need for reagent blanks.
Customizable The DR3900 lets users store and modify hundreds of custom methods, tailoring the system to specific plant requirements. With regular software updates and Claros™ connectivity, operators can optimize their workflow, making the DR3900 a powerful, future-ready solution for water quality laboratories.
