Description

Test Principle

Bench UV Light Accelerated Aging Test Chamber. Ultraviolet (UV) rays in sunlight are the leading cause of weathering and surface damage in most materials. To replicate this process, we use UV lamps that simulate the short-wave portion of sunlight. Unlike natural sunlight, these lamps generate very little visible or infrared light, focusing mainly on UV radiation to accelerate aging.

Depending on testing needs, operators can select different types of UV lamps since each produces unique irradiance energy and wavelength characteristics. For instance, UVA-340 lamps closely reproduce the UV spectrum of natural sunlight between 295–365 nm. UVA-351 lamps, on the other hand, simulate UV exposure that passes through window glass, making them ideal for indoor aging studies. UVB-313 lamps emit stronger short-wave UV than what occurs naturally on Earth. As a result, they speed up the aging process significantly. However, they may sometimes cause unrealistic damage, so they are best suited for quality control, research, and testing highly durable materials.

The BGD 852 UV Aging Chamber provides a cost-effective and user-friendly solution for these applications. In addition, it is equipped with three 20W UVA or UVB lamps that allow users to set illumination time, temperature, and spray cycles to simulate environmental conditions. Since the rotating sample rack ensures uniform exposure, every specimen receives the same irradiance energy, which improves comparability and repeatability of test results.

Features
