Description

Introduction

Multi-Functional Cyclic Corrosion Test Cabinets, For most artificial accelerated tests in the laboratory, achieving consistent results with outdoor testing is the primary goal. Prior to cyclic corrosion testing, conventional salt spray (a continuous salt spray at 35°C) was the most popular way to simulate corrosion indoors. However, conventional salt spray methods could not replicate the natural wet/dry cycles of outdoor conditions, leading to poor correlation with real-world results. To better simulate the complex and variable natural environment, cyclic corrosion testing has gradually become an important and effective method for assessing the life of industrial products.

Cyclic Corrosion Test Cabinets

The Cyclic Corrosion Test Cabinets, also called CCT&CRH Cabinets, expose industrial products to repeated cycles of salt spray, dry air, and static environments with high or low humidity. Previously, operators had to switch samples manually between different chambers. The multi-functional Cyclic Corrosion Test Cabinets solve this problem by automating these cycles within a single chamber.

In a typical cyclic corrosion cabinet, specimens experience a sequence of environments in repetitive cycles that simulate outdoor exposure. Simple cycles such as Prohesion alternate between salt fog and dry conditions. More advanced automotive methods require multi-step cycles that include humidity, dry air, or condensation, combined with salt spray and dry-off.

Within one chamber, users can move smoothly through a series of key corrosion environments. Even complex test cycles are easily programmed through the controller. Biuged CCT&CRH Cabinets perform salt spray, Prohesion, and 100% humidity cycles for most automotive testing needs.

Functions and Capabilities

Biuged Cyclic Corrosion Test Cabinets set and control all parameters through a touch screen. The system combines multiple tests—salt spray corrosion, humidity (high/low temperature and humidity), and air drying (hot or ambient)—to simulate a wide variety of cyclic corrosion tests. Special cycles can also be simulated by combining optional accessories.

The instrument also conducts individual tests such as:

  • Neutral Salt Spray Test (NSS)
  • Acetic Acid Salt Spray Test (AASS)
  • Copper Accelerated Acetic Acid Salt Spray Test (CASS)
  • Water Spray Test
  • Damp Heat Test
  • Drying Test
  • Standard Atmospheric Environment Test
