The Fabric ICI Mace Snag Tester evaluates the snagging resistance of outerwear fabrics, knitted and woven materials, and other textiles prone to snagging. It is especially effective for testing fabrics made of chemical fiber filaments and textured yarns. During testing, a chain-suspended hammer moves around the guide rod and strikes the sample mounted on the rotating drum. After the drum completes a set number of rotations, the operator removes the fabric and compares it with the standard rating chart inside the evaluation box.
Product Description
The tester quickly measures how easily a fabric snags or pulls yarns under normal wearing conditions. It includes an observation box and comparison rating cards for different fabric structures.
The system features four test rollers, each covered with the fabric sample, and a tungsten carbide hammer head that delivers consistent impact.
An electronic counter accurately controls and records the number of rotations, ensuring precise and repeatable test results.
